To encourage academic integrity, assignments can be set to prevent access to some browser features. require full screen and prevent access to right-click menus. Disable copy/paste and spell check settings are updated in the assignment rather than the activity. (October 2025)

Lingco’s new student view feature allows you to see the course from an individual student’s account.

Instructors can access this feature from the roster, allowing them to act as a student.  (September 2025)

Lingco introduced a new feature allowing individualized assignment settings. To support this feature, due dates con be viewed on the submission list to reflect activities assigned to everyone, to sections, or to individuals. (March 2025)

Known Issues

Problem: Dropped audio recordings.

Possible Causes

  1. Platform change: When attempts are limited to 1, students can no longer check their recordings to ensure the response has been saved
  2. For items that auto-record after a prompt has played, students could accidentally click the recorder off if they manually activate recording at the same moment the recording automatically starts
  3. For longer recordings: students advance to the next page in the activity before the audio recording has been saved, especially for long recordings

Workaround:

  1.  To enable students to check recordings: Change test settings so there are two attempts allowed on audio recordings. Instruct students to  only record once but to listen to the recording before moving to the next question.
  2. For items that begin auto-recording after a delay: instruct students NOT to click the recording icon to manually begin recording.
  3. For items that limit the length of the response: When students have spoken for the full allotted time, instruct students to wait about ten seconds for the program to save the response before moving to the next question in the activity.

Solution: Reported to Lingco November 2025. Engineers are working on a repair. Contact CLS for updates or to add information to this request.

Problem: Syncing vocabulary sets to Canvas creates duplicate Canvas assignments rather than updating the grades in the existing Canvas assignment.

Causes: Lingco coding change.

Workaround: No known workarounds. Lingco suggests deleting assignments from Canvas with each instance of syncing.

Solution: CLS filed a bug report November 11, 2025.
