The CLS provides support for placement and proficiency testing for a variety of languages.
- Placement tests for languages taught at Yale are offered beginning in July each year to guide new students in the appropriate level class to enroll in.
- Proficiency tests are also available for languages not taught at Yale for students wishing to demonstrate their competence in a language.
