Overview
Throughout the academic year, the CLS invites language instructors to a series of informal brown bag lunches on a variety of topics. In some Brown Bags, language faculty gather to talk about a subject of common interest (such as heritage learners), in others, members of the CLS staff offer “how to” presentations on technology for the classroom, and in still others, faculty may present a paper they plan to give at a regional or national conference. The informal, roundtable format invites a lively exchange of ideas.
For presenters
Brown Bag events are typically an hour long, with 45-50 minutes for presentations and 10-15 minutes for Q&A.
Presentations are typically recorded. The event space has microphones, a projector, and a computer, which we recommend you use.
In order to prepare for your presentation, we request that you provide us with your slides 48 hours before your event. Please submit your slides through Microsoft Forms (if you have a Yale NetID) or email them to maryjo.lubrano@yale.edu.
