Event description:
Cultures and Languages Across the Curriculum (CLAC): A Transformative, Inclusive, and Effective Approach to Globalize the Curriculum

How to integrate multilingual and multicultural perspectives into all curricular and co-curricular practices in higher education? How to dissolve the barriers between language learning and disciplinary learning? How to prepare our students to develop global perspectives through meaningful use of languages they know or are learning? And how to create an institutional culture that all languages should be valued as a means to access, generate, and disseminate knowledge? This brown bag talk will introduce the framework and approaches of Cultures and Languages Across the Curriculum (CLAC) and discuss ways to develop CLAC programs at Yale University to respond to the above questions.

Presented by Jiangyuan (JY) Zhou, Ed.D., Interim Director and SIO, Office of Global Engagement, Stockton University.
