Korean Placement Test

Overview
Students seeking to demonstrate proficiency through examination or seeking placement based on prior study must take these exams when offered in the fall. Please note that the placement test is only available for the fall semester.

- Friday, March 8 until Tuesday, March 26
Test Components
The Korean test includes three components:
*Note: Students who completed the online placement test and writing test will be scheduled for an interview via Zoom and will be notified by email.
If you cannot take the Oral/Writing Test, please contact the language coordinator prior to that date. Questions regarding the examinations or courses can be addressed to the Program Coordinator, Seungja Choi.

Placement Tests for Fall 2024 Semester: Friday, March 8 through Tuesday, March 26
Results
Unless otherwise noted, placement results are provided in one of the following ways: 1) shown on-screen upon completion of the test, 2) posted to Canvas prior to the start of the semester, or 3) distributed by faculty from the department.
Technical Requirements for Online Testing
Mobile devices are not supported for the online placement tests. You should use a computer with a current version of MacOS or Windows and a recently updated browser. For Mac users, Chrome or Firefox browser is preferred.
Technical Support
Live support for Lingco is available during regular business hours through the chat icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
If you still have problems accessing the test after contacting Lingco, please complete the Placement Test Support Form to request help. Technical support for online tests is available during all Yale workdays. On weekends and holidays, you may expect a response on the next workday.
