The CLS is a place for the language community to share ideas, bridge cultures, and further the study of languages at Yale.
English Language Program
Fundamentals of Language Teaching
The CLS offers a five-week series of workshops on the fundamentals of language teaching in conjunction with the Yale Teaching Center. We cover a wide range of subjects--task-based learning, teaching grammar communicatively, and giving feedback--in a collegial, discussion-based format. The first session is Thursday, September 4. To sign up, contact Suzanne Young.
Registration is now open for Fall 2014 Medical Spanish courses! These courses for medical professionals are hybrid 8-week courses, with one face-to-face meeting and one online meeting per week. See our LSP page for more information. To register, click here.
The CLS supports graduate and undergraduate students who want to showcase their language accomplishments in an ePortfolio. See how Laurie Lomask and Tanya Romero-Gonzalez present their teaching and research in two stellar examples of how the medium works. For information about how to create your own ePortfolio, contact Suzanne Young.
Certificate in Second Language Acquisition
The CLS offers a Certificate in Second Language Acquisition designed for Yale graduate students in departments of language & literature to provide a comprehensive training program in SLA and language teaching methodology.
