Advanced isiZulu (ZULU 150)

Advanced isiZulu (ZULU 150)

This course focuses on developing fluency in the four skill areas: speaking, listening, reading and writing.  Students will read a series of texts drawn from folklore and history and from contemporary sources including popular magazines, and they will listen to and watch Zulu speakers in conversation.  They will prepare and perform dialogues based on the readings and video-clips and they will prepare a weekly presentation of a news item.  Activities based on all the above will include grammar review and development of vocabulary and idiom.

This course will be taught as a regular course at Yale and via videoconferencing at Columbia.
