The Yale MacMillan Center in collaboration with the Yale Center for Language Study offers foreign language courses to Greater New Haven area students through its World CLASS (Culture and Language after School Studies) Program.  These courses give local students the opportunity to study foreign languages that are not traditionally offered on the high school level.

We offer courses in the following languages: Arabic, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, and Urdu. We are also gauging interest in the following languages: Irish, Hebrew, Greek, and Korean.

We require for each student to submit one teacher recommendation along with their application. Students who do not obtain this recommendation will not be eligible for consideration.

World CLASS courses will begin the week of October 14, 2019 and will end on May 15, 2020. Courses meet once per week for an hour and a half on Yale’s campus. The program costs $500/course, with full scholarships available to students who attend New Haven Public Schools. A Yale certificate of completion will be provided upon completion of the courses.

If you have any questions about the program, please contact worldclass@yale.edu.

The deadline for registration is Friday, June 7th. To register please click here.
