Am I eligible for the OPA2?

Yes, you are you eligible 

  • Have you taken the SPEAK and scored 45 at least twice AND are enrolled or just completed an ELP course?

YES, you have met full criteria and are eligible, but remember the Graduate School will only pay for all assessment attempts through August 2011. You are responsible for paying for any English oral proficiency assessments beyond two (2), effective September 2011.

  • Are you currently enrolled in Teaching in the American Classroom?

YES, you are eligible.

 

 No, you are not eligible

  • Have you taken the SPEAK assessment?

NO, you are not eligible. You must have attempted the SPEAK and scored at least 45 twice in order to take the OPA2 assessment. Please go to “Are you eligible to take the SPEAK assessment in the CLS ELP website.

  • Have you taken the SPEAK or OPA2 before and scored 45 at least twice?

NO, you are not eligible. You must have attempted the SPEAK and scored at least 45 twice in order to take the OPA2 assessment. Please go to “Are you eligible to take the SPEAK assessment in the CLS ELP website.

  • Are you currently enrolled in an ELP course or have you did you just complete an ELP course in December or May?

NO, you are not eligible. You must be or have just been enrolled in an ELP course and have scored 45 twice on the SPEAK to be eligible to take the OPA2.

  • Are you a MA or MS student, professional school student or a Visiting Researcher, or post doc who has been asked to teach in your department?

NO, you are not eligible. You should first take the SPEAK assessment. Please go to Am I eligible for the SPEAK?
