Event time:

Location:
Center for Language Study (Dow Hall), Library See map
370 Temple St.
Event description:

The goal of this series is to explore issues that have emerged in the post-communicative era, including the role of texts (literature, film, etc.) in language teaching and the need to extend language learning into literature courses.  The context for our discussions will be the 10th anniversary of the 2007 MLA report, which suggested ways to bridge language and literature teaching.  We will also begin to draft teaching statements and get a chance for modeling and feedback.  The lesson plans, activities, and teaching statements you produce in the workshops may be used as part of your teaching ePortfolio.  The Advanced Fundamentals is a requirement for the Certificate in Second Language Acquisition, but is open to any interested Language and Literature graduate student.
